How webist.com.my uses cookies and similar technologies.
This policy explains what cookies are, how this website uses them, which third parties may set them and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Statement.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer or mobile device when you visit. They let the site recognise your device, remember your choices and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies include local storage in your browser, pixels and tags embedded in pages, and the identifiers that embedded third-party content may set. In this policy we use the word cookies to cover all of them.
2. How this website uses them
webist.com.my is a content website for a business audience. We use cookies to enable basic website functionality, to remember the choice you make on the cookie notice, to understand which pages interest visitors most, to let you share articles on social media, and, where enabled, to tailor content, job openings and advertising to your interests and location. We do not use cookies to collect sensitive personal data.
3. The categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required for the site to work and to remember the choice you made on the cookie notice. They cannot be switched off in our systems, but you can block them in your browser. | The webist-cookie-choice value stored in your browser's local storage after you use the cookie notice. |
| Performance and analytics | Help us count visits, see which pages and articles are read most, and detect errors, so that we can improve the site. Where we use an analytics service such as Google Analytics, the data is aggregated and does not directly identify you. | Analytics cookies that record page views, session length, referring site and approximate location. |
| Functional | Remember choices you make, such as a collapsed section or a form you started, and enable features such as embedded video and maps. | Preferences stored by the site; identifiers set by embedded video or map providers when you interact with them. |
| Targeting and social media | Set by social media platforms and advertising partners when you share a page or when we run campaigns, so that content, job openings and advertising shown to you elsewhere can reflect your interests. These are only active where we have enabled the relevant integration. | LinkedIn and Facebook tags and share buttons; advertising pixels used in campaigns. |
4. Third parties involved
- Google provides the web fonts used on this site and, where enabled, Google Analytics and Google Maps. Google's own privacy policy governs the data it receives.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the video shown on the home page. Loading the video sends your device's standard request information to AWS.
- WhatsApp, LinkedIn and Facebook receive data when you click through to them from this site or use their share features, under their own terms.
We do not control cookies set by third parties. Please review their policies for details on how they use the information they collect.
5. Managing cookies
The cookie notice shown when you first visit lets you accept or reject cookies with one click; your choice is remembered in your browser so that the notice is not shown again on every page. You can change or clear that choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, after which the notice will appear again.
You can also control cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you see which cookies are stored, delete them individually or in bulk, block third-party cookies, block all cookies from specific sites, or block all cookies entirely. The help pages for Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge explain how. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of this site may not work as intended. For analytics specifically, Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics across all websites.
Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal. There is no common industry standard for responding to it, so this site does not change its behaviour when it receives one, but the controls described above remain available to you.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add or remove tools on the website or when the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
7. Contact
